Kindergarten-4th Grade

K-4th Grade Program at Beaverdam Christian Academy

At Beaverdam Christian Academy, we believe that academic excellence is not just the ability to achieve good grades and excel at scholarly activities. We believe that for a student to fully excel and develop wholly, they must grow academically, emotionally, socially, and most importantly spiritually.  It is within these foundational years in Kindergarten through Fourth Grade, that students develop a worldview of who they are, why God created them, their purpose, their passions, and their giftings to utilize in the world around them. Students strive to achieve academic excellence so that they find purpose and meaning in their place in the world as it relates to others.

Teachers at Beaverdam Christian Academy hold students, parents, and each other, to standards of academic and moral excellence. Students are taught starting in kindergarten classes to take pride in their work, to be responsible for their accomplishments and with responsibilities come great rewards of knowledge and growth. The standards of high moral standards allow for our students, faculty and parents to have confidence in our school standing firm on the principals set forth in our vision of being a God honoring school for this community.

Students in all grades at Beaverdam Christian Academy begin their day together with opening ceremonies in the gymnasium at 8:10 a.m. This morning time together begins with a student led pledge, our National Anthem, a prayer, and special announcements for the school. Students are all dismissed following the ceremony to their daily Bible Classes, which we consider to be the most important part of each student’s day. During this time, students are prayed for, Bible stories are read, verses are memorized, and worship is held for students with their teachers. On Wednesday morning’s in lieu of a Bible Class, a school wide Chapel Service is held in the church sanctuary where guest speakers are brought in for special devotionals, testimonies, and worship services.

Beaverdam Christian Academy utilizes Abeka, a product of Pensacola Christian College, as our school curriculum. Abeka’s curriculum is Biblically integrated which means it is based on Biblical principles that address the nature of the learner and learning itself, the nature of truth and authority, and what is truly important to learn and remember. Each subject, whether it be math, science, history, or English will be centered around biblical truths and allow our students to grow in their foundation a Christian worldview.

Throughout the student’s day of scholastic activities, recesses, lunch and social activities, students are encouraged to find their voice and explore critical thinking concepts, engage in thoughtful and meaningful conversations with their peers, and play, while enjoying their time as children in elementary school. There is a beautiful balance of dedicated classwork time and childhood imagination and play, while at school, and the teachers create very intentional schedules with this in mind. The staff at BCA believe that a love for learning should begin at a young age and continue throughout one’s lifetime and the staff at Beaverdam Christian Academy count it all a privilege to inspire this love of learning in the hearts of our students.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. (Philippians 4:8)
