Through crafts, hands on textiles and social play, the Pre-K3 students will experience their first taste of school in a fun and energetic atmosphere completely tailored to the way they see the world! During Bible class, students will love learning about individuals of the Bible such as David, Daniel, Jonah, and Zacchaeus, as well as important holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. Through memorizing short Bible verses, they will have God’s Word to help them daily as they learn about Creation, God’s promises, obedience, prayer, God’s protection, salvation, miracles, and Heaven. Students will have two recesses per day, outside is the goal, as the weather permits! Students will take a two-hour nap in Pre-K3.

Pre-K4- Available for any student turning four by December 31st, 2024.

Students in Pre-K4 will continue to building on their foundations of phonics by enjoying carefully sequenced activities that will teach vowels, consonants, blends, one-vowel words, and two-vowel words. By second semester Pre-K4 students will actually be reading little books! Students will participate in numerous counting and coloring activities that teach number concepts and formation of numbers 1–20,  counting up to 100, and adding 1 to a number, which acquaints students with how numbers work. Pre-K4 students love to be creative!

Students enjoy fun-filled projects all year long while developing foundational skills including cutting, drawing, gluing, and coloring. Students will take an hour and a half nap in Pre-K4.

Junior Kindergarten

A bridge class, in between pre-school and kindergarten. Eligible for any student four or five years old that is not quite kindergarten ready and might need an extra year of preparation before jumping into a full kindergarten class. Students enrolled in the Junior Kindergarten (JK) Program at Beaverdam Christian Academy will continue building on their knowledge of age-appropriate phonics exercises to help associate pictures and words, enhance vocabulary, develop reasoning and listening skills, and follow directions. Students will apply their understanding of one- and two-vowel words, special phonics sounds, and blends to create words, finish sentences, solve puzzles, and color pictures. This class blends two curriculums from Abeka, the Pre-K4 curriculum and the first half of the kindergarten curriculum, which allows students to prepare for the next year of a full curriculum work load. Students in Junior Kindergarten will have two recesses per day, outside is the goal, as the weather permits! Students in Junior Kindergarten do not take naps.
